The Second Grade Class of 2010/2011 at Los Encinos School
This past April, Kristen Kosinski spoke to the second grade class at Los Encinos School. After viewing one of The Samburu Project’s videos and listening to Kristen’s lecture about the importance and scarcity of water in Kenya, the class was inspired to help.
The second grade class is responsible for the recycling program at Los Encinos School. As a class, they decided to involve their school community by organizing a drive to collect plastic bottles and cans. The drive began on Tuesday, May 10th and continued for the following consecutive five Tuesdays. The second grade students made posters, and along with parent volunteers collected the recyclables during morning and afternoon carpool drop off. In all, the class raised $351 for The Samburu Project!
Thank you second grade class of 2010/2011 for all the hard work you put into planning and executing the recycling program at your school. We are inspired by your initiative and your desire to raise money for The Samburu Project while at the same time promoting local conservation practices!
