Next Well Drill is Scheduled for August 2008 This month we are drilling 10 more wells, bringing clean water to THOUSANDS more people.   Twelve Wells Drilled -- Thirteen More To Go! In July 2007, The Samburu Project drilled and installed eight new wells, bringing us to a total of twelve wells. This means clean water for thousands more people. If you'd like to help us reach our goal of TWENTY FIVE wells, please visit our donation page now. We've spent 96 cents out of every dollar raised on well-drilling activities, so your contribution will have a direct impact on the Samburu community.
Vision: The Samburu Project collaborates with communities in developing countries to enhance men, women and children's daily lives by providing resources that address immediate needs while promoting long term sustainability and self-sufficiency along with cultural integrity.   25 WELLSThe Samburu Project's first mission will build twenty-five wells in Samburu, Kenya.
The Samburu are a pastoral nomadic tribal community of over 150,000 people living in an arid, remote area of Northern Kenya just above the equator. The biggest issue in Samburu, Kenya is not HIV/AIDS, poverty or genital mutilation. It’s the lack of clean water. Samburu women walk up to twelve miles every day looking for water and often return home to their children with nothing.
With your help, The Samburu Project aims to build twenty-five wells in Samburu, Kenya. | ||||||
