The 3rd annual Samburu Project Splash Bash
at Smashbox Studios in Culver City, California on November 7, 2015 was a major success. Hosting 250 guests, the event achieved a level of elegance that was made possible by our incredible sponsors. From the moment guests arrived until they departed the quality of our partnerships were present.
The evening kicked off with entertainment by Balandugu Kan. The authentic African drumming and dancers set the tone for our evening supporting clean water for Kenya. When guests weren’t feasting on food and drink, they enjoyed taking pictures in a photo booth as well as bid on live and silent auctions items. Our guests bid on unique works of art, international vacation packages, sporting tickets, jewelry and the grand finale – water wells in Samburu, Kenya of course.
As the evening was a celebration of The Samburu Project’s tenth anniversary, guests were treated to a video with highlights of organization’s growth since 2005. Having delivered water to over 80,000 people, resulting in thousands of children going to school for the first time and water borne disease all but eradicated in our well communities, there was much to celebrate.
Accomplishing Our Goal
Through ticket sales, pledges and donations, the 3nd annual Samburu Splash Bash grossed nearly $150,000. These funds will allow The Samburu Project to continue drilling new wells, support 84 existing wells, and three existing agricultural projects in those communities throughout Samburu, Kenya. The global citizens who attended the Samburu Splash Bash allowed The Samburu Project to expand its reach.
